Zopent 20mg Tablets
Each enteric coated tablet contains Pantoprazole Sodium Sesquihydrate (HPL) equivalent to pantoprazole 20mg.
Zopent 40mg Tablets
Each enteric coated tablet contains Pantoprazole Sodium Sesquihydrate (HPL) equivalent to pantoprazole 40mg.
Substance group/action mechanism
Selective proton pump inhibitor, substituted benzimidazole.
Indications
- For the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in patients with peptic ulcers (in combination with two appropriate antibiotics and/or other drugs indicated for H. pylori eradication)
- Duodenal ulcer
- Gastric ulcer
- Moderate and severe reflux oesophagitis
Contraindications
In patient with moderate to severe hapatic or renal dysfunction Zopent must not be used as currently the data for the safety of Zopent in combination treatment of these patients are not available.
Zopent should generally not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to one of the constituents of Zopent or of the combination drugs used in the treatment.
Pregnancy
There is no information on the excretion of pantoprazole into human breast milk.
Precautions and warnings
Please check the prescribing information of other drugs as well when Zopent is used in combination with those drugs.
Malignant ulcers of G I tract should be ruled out prior to use of Zopent as an ulcer healing drug. Data for use of pantoprazole in children is not available.
Zopent does not cause impairment in the ability to drive and use machines.
