Description
Cefim is semi synthetic, cephalosporin antibiotic for oral administration. it is chemically Cefixime and is marketed by Hilton Pharma.
How Cefim Works
Like all betalactim antibiotics, Cefim binds to specific penicillin binding proteins located inside the bacterial cell wall, causing the inhibition of the third and last stage of bacterial cell wall synthesis. Cell lysis is then mediated by bacterial cell wall autolatic enzymes such as autolysins; it is possible that cefim interferes with an autolysin inhibitor.
